Export and Import a Ruleset

This guide explains how to export a ruleset to a file and how to import a ruleset from a file. Exporting is useful as a backup before making large changes, or to share a ruleset with someone else.

Export a ruleset

There are two ways to export a ruleset.

From the ruleset itself

  1. Open the ruleset version you want to export.
  2. Click Export on the right side of the screen.
    ↳ The Export dialog opens.
  3. Configure the export options:
    • Include tests - includes all testcases in the export.
    • Include sandbox data - includes the sandbox input data.
    • Lock ruleset - prevents the imported ruleset from being edited.
    • Comment - optional note to describe the export.
  4. Click Export.
↳ Rulecube downloads the ruleset as a file.

From the Services page

  1. Go to the Services page.
  2. Click the ruleset you want to export to expand its versions.
  3. Click the Export icon next to the version you want to export.
    ↳ The Export dialog opens.
  4. Configure the export options as described above.
  5. Click Export.
↳ Rulecube downloads the ruleset as a file.

Import a ruleset

  1. Go to the Services page.
  2. Click Import in the top right corner.
↳ The Import ruleset dialog opens.
  3. Click Choose file or drag a ruleset file onto the dialog.
  4. Configure the import options:
    • Overwrite existing ruleset - replaces the existing ruleset if one with the same name already exists.
    • Overwrite commit history - replaces the commit history with that of the imported file.
    • Import dependencies - also imports any libraries the ruleset depends on.
    • Open ruleset after importing - opens the ruleset immediately after the import completes.
  5. Click Upload.
↳ Rulecube imports the ruleset and it appears on the Services page.
