Create an Output
This guide explains how to add an output element to a Rulecube Form.
An output renders a read-only value from the ruleset.
Note: The available options for an Output element are identical to those of an Input element. The key difference is that the user cannot edit the value — it is always read-only.
Prerequisites: Add an Input fullName to your ruleset, set Type to string, and check Output.
Steps:
- Click + Element and choose Input
- Expand the element
- Set the Label to
Full name - Under Property binding, set the Path to
fullName - Set the Input type to
Text - Click + Element and choose Output
- Expand the element
- Set the Label to
Full name (read-only) - Under Property binding, set the Path to
fullName - Save the Ruleset
The Input allows the user to type a value. The Output field below it displays the same value as read-only.
Tip: You can also bind an Output to a Rule instead of an Input. This lets you display a calculated value — for example a total price or a formatted name — directly on the form.
